Bladin's International School
Stiftelsen Bladins skola is a private foundation in Malmo, Sweden. The school is fully recognized by the Swedish Department of Education, and receives both national and local grants. Bladin's school has two sections, the National Programme with 350 students from pre-school to Grade 12 and the International Programme with 200 students also from pre-school through to Grade 12. The international school is authorized to teach the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme. The Upper Secondary School offers a Natural Sciences Programme and a Social Sciences Programme so that students may complete their English speaking education up to Grade 12. The corresponding school which offers the IB Diploma Programme is Malmo Borgarskolan. Bladin's offers a calm, secure environment with small class sizes and committed teaching staff. Most staff are native English speakers and all have qualifications from their country of origin. The international school shares facilities such as a gymnastics hall, laboratories, music room, computer room, dining hall and grounds with the Swedish school. A new library/media centre is planned. The Upper Secondary School is housed in an 18th century manor house situated in park-like surroundings. The school year, which consists of two terms, begins on 16 August 2003 and finishes on 8 June 2004. Parents are encouraged to become involved in the school both in classroom activities and through the Parents' Association. Transport to and from the school is not provided but can be arranged if there is sufficient demand. There are excellent public transport connections within the city and its environs. Lunches are provided free of charge. Admission is based on level of English and availability of places. Early application is advisable.
